This rotation is a four-week rotation. The rotation will focus on the management of medication safety within an academic medical center. The purpose of the rotation is to provide the resident with knowledge on the safety systems within the medication use cycle and identify areas where improvements can be made. The resident learning experience includes event reporting, analyzing events, and identifying areas for possible improvement. Upon completion of the rotation, the resident will be able to describe and apply principles of medication safety to the medication-use process within the health care system.
