Biography

Hometown: Madison, WI

Pharmacy School: Drake University

PGY-1 (if current PGY-2): Michigan Medicine

Why did you choose Michigan's residency program? I chose Michigan’s residency program because they offer a wide variety of clinical rotations throughout the health system.  The ambulatory pharmacists are very active within their practice areas and provide very innovative ambulatory care services.  Our preceptors provide amazing mentorship and are highly invested in us as residents.

Research Topic: Assessment of Pharmacists' management of the perioperative process for patients on anticoagulation therapy undergoing catheterization procedure

Hobbies outside of pharmacy: Baking, reading, crossword puzzles, spending time with family and friends

Favorite Book: Crazy Rich Asians

Favorite Movie: The Sound of Music

Favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor: Aventura

Advice for future residents: Be open to all experiences even if they aren’t your favorite, you may learn the most from these experiences.  It’s ok to get outside of your comfort zone!

Advice on how to prepare for Michigan winters: Wool socks. Having lived in the Midwest for most of my life and having cold winters, I have found a good couple of pairs of wool socks to keep your feet warm a worthwhile investment!

Favorite part about doing a residency at Michigan Medicine: While I may be the only community resident, I am enjoying having a large residency class who supports one another. It’s great to have people around you who are going through the same challenging year and are able to provide the support system you will need this year.
