PGY-2 Critical Care Pharmacy Resident

Biography

Hometown: Sioux Falls, SD

Pharmacy School: South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy

PGY-1 (if current PGY-2): Nebraska Medicine

Why did you choose Michigan's residency program? The variety of different learning opportunities, the incredible research, the large preceptor group and the size of the residency program! I felt like Michigan Medicine was the place that was going to allow me to fully prepare myself to be a competitive critical care clinical pharmacist when I am done.

Research Topic: Adverse hemodynamic effects of dexmedetomidine in critically ill elderly adults

Writing Topic: Status epilepticus literature and guideline review

Hobbies outside of pharmacy: Hot yoga, reading (when I have the chance), hiking and doing outdoor activities, cooking and trying new restaurants, going to breweries, hanging with family and friends

Favorite Book: So many to chose from but....The Firm by John Grisham was my first "grown up book" and I still love it. BUT I also still love the Harry Potter series.

Favorite Movie: All Audrey Hepburn movies! Funny Face, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Roman Holiday, My Fair Lady.....and many more!

Favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor: I haven't explored enough of them yet to have a favorite!

Advice for future residents: Take time to enjoy the moments of residency and your co-residents! Yes you will be busy and have a million things to do, but try to take time for yourself and do non-work related things every once in a while too!
