Morgan Homan, PharmD

PGY-2 Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Resident
PGY-1 Health-System Pharmacy Resident

Hometown: Coldwater, OH

Pharmacy School: Ohio Northern University

PGY-1 (if current PGY-2): Michigan Medicine

Why did you choose Michigan's residency program? I chose Michigan because I wanted to train in a large academic center with diverse rotation experiences. I chose to stay for PGY2 because of Michigan's many contributions to the practice of hematology/oncology and to continue working with our incredible hem/onc preceptors. I was excited about the affiliation with the college of pharmacy and the opportunities in teaching and research.

Research Topic: Outcomes in acute myeloid leukemia patients receiving 10-day decitabine with or without venetoclax

Writing Topic: An update to the CNS TAP tool: selection of precision medicine in neuro-oncology

Hobbies outside of pharmacy: Golfing, music, pretending I'm actually going to teach myself how to play guitar, discovering new breweries, Netflix

Favorite Book: Pride & Prejudice, Harry Potter

Favorite Movie: Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

Advice for future residents: Be open to every experience and opportunity, and trust the process

Favorite part about doing a residency at Michigan Medicine: My incredible co-residents and our weekly happy hours

Favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor (and why): So many great places for food and drinks! (And flights of ice cream at Blank Slate Creamery)
