PGY1 Chief Resident

Biography

Hometown: Las Vegas, NV

Pharmacy School: Roseman University of Health Sciences

Why did you choose Michigan's residency program? I chose Michigan's residency program because of the countless opportunities in research, teaching, and clinical development. The interdisciplinary nature of healthcare at Michigan was a huge draw for me as well. Every preceptor, previous resident, and staff member I have had the opportunity to interact with has been nothing but kind and welcoming. I could not picture a better place to continue to learn. Plus, Ann Arbor is a great place to live!

Research Topic: Impact of Time to Antibiotics in High Risk Febrile Neutropenia

Writing Topic: Antipsychotic Use for Appetite Stimulation and Weight Gain in Patients with Cancer

Hobbies outside of pharmacy: Reading, baking, and going on outdoor walks (especially in the fall!)

Favorite Book: To Be Taught if Fortunate by Becky Chambers

Favorite Movie: Practical Magic

Favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor: Sava's

Advice for future residents: My biggest piece of advice is to view every experience as an opportunity for learning and growth. Residency is your time to learn, not only from preceptors, but from every member of the healthcare team. Ask questions, stay curious, and have fun!
