Sandra Cole, PhD, a well known sexologist and faculty member in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and in the Medical School, passed away on May 15, 2017.
Despite Mother Nature’s attempts, we had another successful Bike Day on Friday, May 5th.
Congratulations to Dr. Lisa DiPonio, whose promotion to Clinical Associate Professor has been approved by the Board of Regents. Dr. DiPonio has just started as Chief of service for PM&R at the AAVAMC and is well known for her medical student and resident teaching. At the department-wide meeting on April 24 th we awarded the Tom Lucas TRAIL Blazer Awards: one to recognize a faculty member, one to recognize a non-clinical staff member, and the other to recognize a clinical staff member.
Robert Werner, MD, Professor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and chief of the physical medicine and rehabilitation service at the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center (AAVAMC), will be retiring May 1, 2017.
The Michigan Medicine Stroke Rehabilitation Program recently underwent Joint Commission survey, and the surveyor verified the tremendous work that our inpatient rehabilitation team has done to create a high-quality program in evidence-based stroke rehabilitation. Our program has now been officially certified with no citations!
