Dr. Kelly is the Medical Director of Orthotics & Prosthetics in the University of Michigan Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.  Dr. Kelly has gained national recognition for his work on gait and running disorders, amputation, prosthetics, and neurologic disorders. He has published numerous articles and chapters on prosthetics, orthotics and neurologic injuries. In 2014, Dr. Kelly and colleagues published a new textbook on prosthetic restoration, that reflects their vast clinical experience and teaching skills related to prosthetics.

Dr. Kelly devotes a significant amount of time and energy to the education, training, and evaluation of resident physicians. He has been honored with the highest teaching awards available at all of the institutions at which he has served. Dr. Kelly is the Chair of  the National Osteopathic Board PMR Medical Examiners.
