Biography

Dr. Nakamura graduated from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010. She completed 2 years of residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology followed by PM&R at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation/Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 2017. During her training, she was awarded the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) Resident Scholarship Award and Joel A. DeLisa MD Resident Research Award. She then completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center of Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2018. Dr. Nakamura’s clinical practice includes outpatient sports and musculoskeletal medicine. As a former elite figure skater, she has a special interest in performance medicine. Other areas of interest include regenerative medicine, musculoskeletal conditions of pregnancy, diastasis recti, pelvic pain and women’s rehabilitation. She performs ultrasound-guided procedures including TENEX, Prolotherapy, and Platelet-rich Plasma injections.
