Biography

Dr. Sean Smith is the Medical Director of Michigan Medicine's Cancer Rehabilitation program, with a clinical emphasis on restoring function and reducing symptom burden in patients with a history of cancer. In addition to chairing the AAPM&R's Cancer Rehabilitation Physician Consortium and the multi-site research collaborative, the Cancer Rehabilitation Metrics Consortium, he serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Oncology, and is a Deputy Associate Editor for Supportive Care in Cancer. He has published numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and has conducted educational seminars on cancer rehabilitation on three continents.

Rehabilitation outcomes and methods for patients with chronic graft versus host disease, sarcoma, breast cancer, and other primary and metastatic malignancies. Also researching global health disparities for persons with disability in the developing world and resident education.
