Biography

Dr. Elizabeth Duval is an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at the University of Michigan.  Her clinical work is focused on providing evidence-based behavioral treatments for Anxiety, Stress, and Obsessive Compulsive spectrum disorders. These conditions are of particular interest to the Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Program as the general category of anxiety related disorders occur in up to 50% of individuals with bipolar disorder.

Dr. Duval's research activities aim to improve our understanding of mechanisms underlying anxiety disorders and response to treatment. Her research studies use functional brain imaging and peripheral physiology to investigate cognitive and emotional processes underlying anxiety, and how these processes change with treatment.
