Join the nation’s largest gathering of mental health advocates and share, learn and network around important mental health issues. Launching at this year’s convention – NAMI’s new strategic plan! The convention’s theme, Our Movement, Our Moment, captures the power and excitement of this moment as we mobilize the NAMI movement! The 2019 NAMI National Convention offers engaging presenters, thought-provoking topics and the latest updates on important research.

You can find the Prechter Program booth in the exhibit hall at booth #303. Stop by to learn about our history, our many research studies, and our vision to accelerate discoveries to help people with bipolar disorder lead more fulfilling lives.

Our research director, Melvin McInnis, M.D., who was one of the two winners of the 2018 NAMI Research Award, will give a research update session on bipolar research on Friday, June 21, 2019, from 1:30 pm to 2:45 pm. The title of his talk will be "Bipolar Disorder: A Lifetime of Passion, an Unpredictable Journey" and it will take place in the Quinault Ballroom.

Cynthia Burton, Ph.D., who is a faculty member at the Prechter Program and current NAMI Unger Research Fellow at the University of Michigan, also is speaking at the convention at the same day and time as Dr. McInnis. Her talk is titled "Combining Cognitive Training and Brain Stimulation: A Feasibility Study" and will be in room 307.
