The American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP), established in 1961, is an esteemed international organization of leading brain scientists. The ACNP brings together experts from various neuroscience disciplines, including behavioral pharmacology, clinical psychopharmacology, genetics, neuroimaging, and psychiatry, to advance research and education on mental illness and its treatment. The ACNP is dedicated to fostering cross-disciplinary communication among researchers, promoting the application of diverse neuroscientific approaches to study mental health disorders.

Each year, the ACNP selects outstanding young scientists for its travel award program. These travel awards offer an opportunity to attend an outstanding scientific program in clinical and basic research on brain-behavior-drug interactions, become aware of the most recent, and often unpublished, advances in psychopharmacology, and meet and interact with internationally distinguished researchers and scientists.

This year, Dr. Sarah Sperry was selected for an American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP) senior level travel award, a prestigious award in the field, and presented her work “Linking neurophysiological, behavioral, and digital biomarkers of emotion-based impulsivity in bipolar disorder” at the annual conference in Phoenix, AZ on December 10th, 2024.
