It’s March in Ann Arbor, and tournament fever is in the air.
Basketball?
No – science!
Eight teams of U-M scientists have made it into a different kind of March bracket: the STAT Madness tournament of science. Prechter Program researchers, Sarah Sperry, Ph.D., Anastasia Yocum, Ph.D., and Melvin McInnis, M.D., represent one of the eight U-M teams in the tournament.
The editors at STAT News picked the teams from U-M based on their innovative research papers published in 2024. All of the research from U-M was funded entirely or in part by the National Institutes of Health. STAT News is a media outlet that covers medicine and biomedical science and showcases important findings from the nation’s medical research institutions.
We need your help! The researchers need the public’s votes to advance to the next round in their matchups against other scientific teams from around the country. Anyone can vote for their favorites in this bracket.
