A Pilot Longitudinal Study of Motor Behavior in Bipolar Disorder

The purpose of this study is to pilot a longitudinal evaluation of motor behavior in individuals with bipolar disorder and healthy controls.

In this pilot longitudinal study, we aim to quantify day-to-day and functional movements of individuals with bipolar disorder and healthy controls using a camera-based motion capture system and force plates at baseline and follow-up. By achieving this aim, we can test the feasibility of using quantified movements to better understand motor disturbances in bipolar disorder. Also, after the completion of this pilot longitudinal study, we hope to expand to a larger study so that motor disturbances in bipolar disorder can be generalized to a broader range of individuals with bipolar.
