David Berger Maneiro

Resident
Class of 2028

Biography

I was born in Germany, living near Munich until my family moved to Los Angeles when I was 8 years old. I remained in LA for undergrad and a gap year conducting preclinical research, before moving to Ann Arbor for medical school.

I matriculated to UMich interested in psychiatry, and was quickly drawn in by the thought provoking science, the therapeutic relationships we build with patients, and the huge potential to improve outcomes, through both advocacy and clinical advances. While our residency program’s strong didactic curriculum, countless academic opportunities, and varied clinical experiences were easily apparent, I was most impressed that Michigan managed to balance these with a culture truly focused on collaboration, mentorship, and wellbeing. I am beyond excited that I get to remain in Ann Arbor with an amazing class of co-residents.

Outside of work I enjoy woodworking, video games, reading, finding new restaurants, and swimming/biking with my girlfriend, assuming our two cats feel we deserve some free time.
