Myra chose the University of Michigan for her psychiatry training because she wanted to get a robust experience in several aspects of psychiatry including care in emergent settings which is provided by residents rotating through Psychiatric Emergency Services. This, in addition to excellent social work support, extensive opportunities to work with medical students, and the ample mentorship and scholarly opportunities provided are what ultimately drew her to the program; they are the same features that continue to motivate and engage her currently! She lives with her husband, two dogs and two cats in Ann Arbor and greatly enjoys the number of parks available for her and her dogs to explore together.
