Biography

I was originally born in Michigan, then spent 10 years in Missouri before moving back to call Michigan home again. I went to college at Ferris State University and majored in both general biology and psychology. Following my undergraduate education, I attended medical school at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.

Since the beginning of medical school, I knew I wanted to pursue the field of psychiatry. I love the unparalleled opportunity it affords to build close relationships with patients and to play a role in improving the mental health of my community. I was drawn to the University of Michigan because of the incredibly supportive culture among faculty and residents and the great training I knew I would receive. Being at such a large academic institution, I looked forward to the many educational opportunities in specialized psychiatric care. I was also excited to call Ann Arbor my new home and enjoy all of the things to do here, including spending time in nature and eating at our many restaurants!

Outside of work, I enjoy weightlifting, hiking, traveling, baking, crocheting, playing video games, and watching movies. I also love spending time with my fiancé, family, friends, and my two cats.
