Anthony King, Ph.D., Interviewed on WEMU 89.1

Dr. Tony King talks about his approach to coping with stress and anxiety

***This article and short interview is posted to WEMU's website.***

Sometimes, we spend too much time in our heads– remembering the past and projecting ourselves into the future. Unfortunately, this can quickly turn into worrying about the future or regretting the past.

Dr. Anthony King, assistant professor of Psychiatry, is a proponent of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). In this interview with "Art & Soul," he talks about how focusing on the present moment can help us de-stress.

Dr. King emphasizes that when we start seeing our thoughts as "mental events," we can become more aware of the fact that our thoughts are not necessarily the truth.
