Michigan Psychiatry PULSE

Read the April 2022 edition of the Psychiatry E-Newsletter

Dear Friends:

This newsletter arrives at a time of persistent and ever growing challenges in our world. I hope that you and those you care about are coping well and taking care of yourselves. I also hope that this newsletter is a bright spot in your day.

Michigan Medicine’s position as a national leader in training the next generation of health care providers is once again highlighted by the 2023 U.S. News and World Report (USNWR) Best Graduate Schools rankings. I am proud to announce that the Department of Psychiatry ranked in 11th place nationally. Thank you for casting your vote and congratulations to our training directors and coordinators and all the faculty who participate in making this department a great place to learn.

I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation for the many supporters who contribute to our mission in a financial way. Our donors make a huge impact. Recently, Dr. Soo-Eun Chang and her speech neurophysiology laboratory were the recipients of a generous gift from Arsen Tomsky, CEO of a ride-hailing service. Mr. Tomsky’s passion for transportation inspired Dr. Chang to suggest he support her efforts in creating a mobile lab. The van has arrived in Ann Arbor and will allow the research team to meet patients where they live. Read more about this extraordinary gift that allows us to Take Research and Care on the Road.

May is national mental health awareness month, and we are offering a wide variety of educational webinars and livestreams that I hope you’ll join us for. I look forward to 'seeing' you there!

Thank you again for your support. Please reach out with any questions or reactions. I look forward to hearing from you!

Gregory Dalack, M.D.
Daniel E. Offutt, III Professor & Chair
