Giving to the Addiction Center

We are honored to care for you, and we are committed to creating a brighter future for individuals and families struggling with the effects of alcohol and other drugs. The University of Michigan Addiction Center provides state-of-the art care, conducts cutting-edge research, and offers clinical and educational training on substance use disorders.

Addiction is often a private struggle and there are few resources supporting efforts to find the causes and to develop new treatments. Your gift is very important and will support our work on the causes, prevention, interventions, and treatment of substance use disorders among adolescents, emerging adults and adults.

Our strong American culture of philanthropy has influenced the writing of the U.S. tax code over the years in such a way that certain tax benefits accrue to those who make gifts to charitable institutions. A number of vehicles, such as charitable remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities, and lead trusts offer tax benefits and provide income during the lifetime of the benefactor and spouse or others.
