What is your name? Where were you born? Where did you go to college?
Zeinab Makled. I was born in Dearborn, Michigan and I graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit.
What was your major?
I have my bachelors in psychology from Wayne State.
What interests you about the ABCD Study/research?
Since I’ve been in the psychology field I’ve always had a preference to work with young adults, meeting so many new kids from all over Michigan has been really cool! Studying development and seeing how people change over time is a big interest of mine, which is what the ABCD study is all about.
How long have you worked in the department and what does your work focus on / what area do you work in?
I’ve worked with ABCD for over eight months now, the majority of my work is one on one with kids to get through yearly visits.
What are your plans after ABCD (grad school, etc.)
I plan to get my masters in Clinical Psychology so I can have an LPC and practice counseling (hopefully with kids).
Fun fact about yourself! What are your hobbies?
A fun fact about me is that my eyes are different colors! I also have a lot of hobbies, in my free hours I spend a lot of time baking, reading, and crocheting.
Do you have any pets?
Yes, three cats all together. One cat at home that I’ve had since I was 9 years old and two kittens that live with me now.
What’s your favorite food or restaurant?
Definitely sushi, and if you’re in Ann Arbor Totoro is the restaurant to get it from.
