Dr. Chen is an Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a radiation oncologist who specializes in the care of genitourinary cancer patients, and also serves as an associate director of the UNC Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Chen received his MD and Maser of Public Health degrees from Harvard University, and also completed his radiation oncology residency at Harvard. Dr. Chen has helped write clinical practice guidelines in prostate cancer for the American Urological Association and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He has received multiple research grants from NIH, PCOR and AHRQ to study prostate cancer care, quality of life, and comparative effectiveness of different treatments. He serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Clinical Oncology; Urologic Oncology; and Internal Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology and Physics.
