Charles Nino

Medical Scientist Training Program Student

Charles Nino is a pre-Candidate in the Cellular and Molecular Biology Department and a third year in the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at the University of Michigan Medical School. Charles graduated with highest distinction from the University of Michigan where he received a BS in Biochemistry. As an undergrad, Charles received the Chemistry Department’s CRC Outstanding Achievement award, third-year Alumni Outstanding Award, and Honors College Vanko Award. Charles worked in the lab of Dr. Brian Ross for four years studying the development of novel molecularly targeted therapeutics in the BRAF and PI3K pathways. As a graduate student Charles is exploring the radiosensitization phenotype, mechanism, and inhibition of multiple molecular targets such as MDM2 and EZH2
