RadOnc faculty and Rogel Cancer Center member Lori Pierce, MD, was elected president of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. The four-year appointment begins with Pierce becoming president-elect in June 2019. She will serve a one-year term as president beginning June 2020.

ASCO is the largest and one of the most influential oncology professional societies, with nearly 45,000 members around the globe. “I am honored to be elected as the next ASCO president and will aim to use my varied leadership experience within ASCO and beyond to cultivate collaboration within our field, strategize new treatment approaches and efficiencies in cancer care, and continue to emphasize high quality care,” Pierce says.
