Core Services

The University of Michigan Skin Biology and Diseases Resource-based Center (UM-SBDRC) will accelerate the science and innovation of the Center's members and the broader community of cutaneous researchers by supporting innovative basic research in cutaneous biology and facilitating its translation to clinical practice.

Learn More About Our Core Services:

Administrative Core

The Administrative Core is dedicated to meeting the critical needs of cutaneous researchers by enhancing and fostering innovative cutaneous research via leadership, oversight, and structure

Animal Modeling Core

The Animal Modeling Core will provide services to help researchers design and develop genetically engineered mouse models (GEMMs), including providing resources regarding GEMM production, breeding, screening, and validation; derivation of primary cell cultures; and establishment of cell lines from GEMMs & providing services regarding GEMM phenotyping and in vivo manipulation, including transgene induction, UV irradiation, inflammation, and fibrosis models

Functional Analytics Core

The Functional Analytics Core will provide unique, state-of-the art services for CRISPR/Cas9 mutagenesis in keratinocytes, with genomic profiling of genetically-altered keratinocytes, and integration into the systems biology pipeline for data analyses/interpretation, and direct access to bioinformatics analyses and large-scale genomic datasets through a web-based interface
