2023 UM-SBDRC Annual Symposium

All interested in skin biology and diseases research are welcome to attend the University of Michigan Skin Biology & Diseases Resourced-based Center (UM-SBDRC) Annual Symposium on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon, Eastern Standard Time in person in Kahn Auditorium and on Zoom

This event is open to the University of Michigan and skin research community. Our event will be held at Kahn Auditorium at the Biomedical Science Research Building and will be streamed on Zoom. You will indicate on your registration if you would like to attend in-person or virtually on Zoom. Please direct any questions or concerns to Center Administrator, Carmel McKeon ([email protected]).

To submit an abstract and reserve a place for an in-person poster presentation, please answer in the registration that you intend to submit. More details will be sent out to those who plan to submit posters. Posters will be judged by a team of faculty and gift certificates given out for one first place ($100 Zingerman’s gift certificate), second places ($50 Zingerman’s gift certificate) and third places ($25 Zingerman’s gift certificate). Elizabeth A. Grice, Ph.D.

“Skin Microbiome: Risk and Reward for Barrier Integrity and Repair”

Dr. Elizabeth A. Grice is the Sandra J. Lazarus Associate Professor in Dermatology, and Associate Professor of Microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. She also serves as the Director of the Penn SBDRC, Vice Chair of Basic Research in the Department of Dermatology, and Vice Chair of the Microbiology, Virology, and Parasitology Graduate Group. Dr. Grice's lab integrates genomics, microbiology, dermatology, and immunology to examine host-microbe interactions of the skin in health and disease. Learn more about the Grice Lab

This Annual Symposium is hosted by the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, the UM Medical School and the UM Department of Dermatology.

Kahn auditorium is in the Biomedical Sciences Research Building (BSRB, 109 Zina Pitcher Pl, Ann Arbor, MI 48109) on our Medical School Campus. It is a short walk outside - to get to Kahn, you exit the Taubman Health Sciences Library, turn left on Catherine, right on Zina Pitcher, and BSRB will be on your right.
