Ana De Roo, MD, MS
Resident, General Surgery
TIMES:
7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
SESSION OVERVIEW:
Surgical coaching is becoming an increasingly investigated and practiced method for improving skill and technique. Distinct from mentorship, sponsorship, and management, coaching involves a more hands-on approach to feedback. In this session, we’ll discuss how to outline goals with coaches, and how to respond to difficult feedback. We will also cover the importance of asserting goals, trajectory and related lines of inquiry thoughtfully and humbly. In the afternoon, we’ll break into groups and develop personalized coaching plans.
This event is for faculty enrolled in the Leadership Development program and is not open to the public.
