SESSION OVERVIEW:
This session will cover the importance of culture in building and maintaining effective teams and programs in healthcare. The impact of culture on teamwork, healthcare outcomes, and the ability of culture to maximize the positive impact of diversity will be specifically discussed. In the context of the liver transplant program, Dr. Sonnenday will demonstrate how a shift in culture can lead to optimization of outcomes for patients. He will share frameworks for diagnosing and solving cultural problems within a team or organization. A panel of leaders will share their stories of building effective cultures, sharing their challenges and successes. Participants can expect to learn about the elements of a healthy culture, the importance of authenticity in leadership, threats to authenticity, transparency, growth through failure, team building and trust.

This event is for faculty enrolled in the Leadership Development program and is not open to the public.
