Bridging the Gap from Actual to Best Practice

SESSION OVERVIEW:
This session will cover implementation science and applications in leadership. The session will begin with an overview of implementation science. Then we’ll move into the identification of a practice gap, discussing how to identify and strategically select actionable practice gaps for implementation. Then we will talk about identifying and detailing strategies on how to determine evidence-based interventions to specifically address the identified gap. Topics covered will include methodology and implementation frameworks that focus on the individual, organizational, and societal/community level requiring change. Next, we’ll move into designing effective and sustainable implementation strategies and the evaluation of the intervention based on implementation outcomes. Then we’ll shift gears to strategies for developing successful implementation science grant proposals with examples of successfully funded grants. Finally, the session will close with how implementation can be leveraged in routine quality improvement projects, with projects workshopped in small group settings.
Please note: Participants will be asked to bring a current project or idea to workshop in small group settings.

This event is for faculty enrolled in the Leadership Development program and is not open to the public.
