Advocating for Change: The Strength of Our Voices

The Michigan Women’s Surgical Collaborative (MWSC) hosts an annual leadership conference designed to engage early- and mid-career faculty, senior residents, and fellows with experts in leadership and career-building approaches. Participants hear speakers on issues and challenges confronting women and underrepresented faculty members and are also provided individualized coaching opportunities based on self-evaluation of their own leadership and conflict styles. This event is sponsored by the Michigan Medicine Department of Surgery.

This year’s talks will focus on:

  • Gun Violence 
  • Surgeon Health and Wellness
  • Addressing Continued Inequities for Women Surgeons
  • Leveraging Resources at the Regional and National Level

Breakout sessions will focus on:
