Biography

Dr. Johnson attended the University of Queensland School of Medicine in Brisbane, Australia. He then completed General Surgery training at Saint Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor (2012-2017), and is currently board certified by the American Board of Surgery. In 2020, Dr. Johnson completed his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Independent Fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is currently a hand surgery fellow at the University of Michigan. Throughout his training, Dr. Johnson has worked closely with Dr. Kevin Chung’s M-CHOIR (Michigan Comprehensive Hand Center for Innovation Research) group to investigate clinical outcomes in the field of hand surgery.

Dr. Johnson has a passion for all pathologies of the upper extremity, and he cares for patients with an orthoplastic approach that respects both bony fixation and soft-tissue reconstructive principles to maximize patient outcomes.
