Biography
Stephen E. Feinberg, DDS, MS, PhD is Professor Emeritus, in the Section of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery/Hospital Dentistry, who continues to conduct research. He has an active NIH-funded research program in tissue engineering focusing on the development of biomaterials for facial and temporomandibular joint reconstruction (soft and hard tissues), tissue engineering of human oral mucosa, and tissue engineering of bone and cartilage for temporomandibular joint reconstruction.
Prior to becoming Professor Emeritus, his clinical areas of practice included facial reconstruction and orthognathic surgery; oral and maxillofacial surgery; temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery, especially reconstruction; endosseous dental implants and bone grafting.
