General Surgery Graduation

Congrats! Class of 2020

Congrats Class of 2020!

You did it!

You trained tirelessly and relentlessly. You refined your skills, found your passion for the specialities that you’re pursuing, and made an impact on the patients you cared for.

You did all of this while a pandemic overturned our world and pressed you into service that wasn’t in the plan.

Your training at Michigan Medicine prepared you to adapt to change, and we’re confident that you’ll handle whatever the world—and your surgery career—throws at you with grace, skill and professionalism.

I just want to take this opportunity to congratulate the class of 2020 and let you know how proud I am that you guys are graduating.
You’re amazing individuals, great surgeons, and it was a true privilege and pleasure to work with you and see you guys grow with the last seven years or so. You have a wonderful future ahead of you.

Hasan Alam, MD, General Surgery Section Chief
