General Surgery Graduation

Meet the Class of 2022 residents and fellows graduating from general surgery training programs.

Congratulations!

You did it!

You trained tirelessly and relentlessly. You refined your skills, found your passion for the specialities that you’re pursuing, and made an impact on the patients you cared for.

You did all of this while a pandemic overturned our world and pressed you into service that wasn’t in the plan.

Your training at Michigan Medicine prepared you to adapt to change, and we’re confident that you’ll handle whatever the world—and your surgery career—throws at you with grace, skill and professionalism.

“Congratulations to the Michigan graduating chief residents!  You are at the start of an amazing surgical career where you will positively impact the lives of so many.  We’re looking to you to shape the future of health care.”

Dr. David Hughes, General Surgery Residency Program Director
