Externships

We welcome externs interested in careers in oral and maxillofacial surgery and hospital dentistry to join us for a week of observational training at Michigan Medicine.

These 1-week externships provide dental students with an invaluable experience shadowing residents and faculty. Externs observe a broad scope of surgical procedures and gain insight into the life of a resident by participating in morning rounds, daily clinics, OR cases, and all residency educational activities.

We offer externships in oral and maxillofacial surgery and hospital dentistry.
