Biography

Dr. Tarek Metwally attended the University of Michigan for his undergraduate, dental, and medical school degrees. While in dental school, he became engrossed in head and neck cancer research with Dr. Nisha D'Silva, which led to him attending the National Institutes of Health's Medical Research Scholars Program. At the NIH, he studied Phosphaturic Mesenchymal Tumors with Dr. Michael Collins.

These experiences led him to apply for an integrated MD/OMFS residency program. Upon graduating from dental school, he was accepted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society. His clinical and research interests include pre-doctoral education and oral and maxillofacial pathology.
