Biography

Dr. Zhang joined the laboratory of Dr. Marina Pasca di Magliano, Associate Professor, in the Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan in 2010 as a post-doctoral fellow after receiving her PhD from the Fourth Military Medical University in China. She is also board-certified in Anatomic Pathology in China. Dr. Zhang graduated with an M.D. from Qingdao University Medical College, China in 1997, having worked in the Department of Pathology in Qingdao Municipal Hospital for 9 years before she pursued a PhD. She is currently a research faculty member in the Department of Surgery, Section of General Surgery at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Zhang's research interests include: 1) Oncogene Kras and the inflammatory microenvironment within pancreatic cancer; 2) Targeting immunosuppressive microenvironment as a therapeutic strategy in pancreatic cancer; 3) Cell signaling pathways involved in pancreatic cancer initiation and progression.
