Interview Day

Congratulations

We look forward to meeting you!

Competitive applicants will be invited to interview with both the MSTP and MD programs.

The MSTP interview experience will include opportunities to connect with research faculty and current MSTP students. Interviews are arranged with faculty members according to your area of scientific interest. The MD interview experience will be your opportunity to engage with a diverse group of people from our Medical School community who are very passionate about what they do and the path they have followed.

Our goal is to help us understand the type of person you are, what matters most to you and why you have chosen to become a physician scientist. At the same time, we want you to get to know us so you can figure out if the Michigan MSTP is the place to help you accomplish your goals in med school and beyond.

Schedule at a Glance*

Your MSTP Interview Day will kick off on Wednesday evening with a themed student panel, followed by a social event/game night hosted by current students.

On Thursday, you’ll start your day with the MSTP Director, Dr. Kathy Collins, and Assistant Director, Justine Hein.  After a presentation and Q&A, you'll begin your interviews for the day.  You can expect up to six 30-minute MSTP interviews during your virtual visit.  You will also have informal opportunities to meet and chat with current MSTP Fellows.  The MD Interview Day (24 Hours in Blue) kicks off Thursday evening, with MD interviews and informational sessions taking place on Friday.

At the end of your interview experience, we hope you have a deeper understanding of our amazing program, our innovative research, and our special  community.

*For the 2020-2021 Admissions season, all sessions will be conducted through Zoom video conferencing and the Attendify virtual event app. Interviewees will be provided with specific instructions and support prior to their interview day.
