The Operating Committee is the governing body of the Michigan MSTP, and also serves as the Admissions Committee. The Operating Committee consists of at least one faculty member from each participating graduate department/program within the medical school, plus three MSTP fellows. Faculty and Fellows have equal voting power within the committee.
The MSTP Operating Committee is responsible for approving all thesis committees and for guiding fellows in the selection of research rotation mentors. It serves as the liaison between the MSTP and the PhD programs. One of the main goals of the Operating Committee is to ensure that the MSTP evolves with the changing needs and interests of our fellows.
