Teri A. Grieb, Ph.D., is the chief of staff for the Office of the Executive Vice Dean for Research and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO). She also serves as senior director for research in the Medical School.
As chief of staff, she works closely with the CSO to develop and implement strategies that facilitate the growth and expansion of research initiatives and funding opportunities across Michigan Medicine. She also is instrumental in fostering the Medical School’s collaborations with the broader research community across the university campus, and addressing investigators’ research needs.
She came to the U-M in 2006 as an industry research liaison, and in 2008 assumed her current role in the Medical School Office of Research, taking on operational and fiscal management of the office and its reporting units.
She holds a Ph.D. from the Genetics Program at George Washington University. Prior to joining the Michigan staff, she worked in life sciences research, in new discoveries and commercial technologies.
