A University of Michigan alumnus will deliver his address, and then shortly thereafter 164 listeners will become alumni of the Medical School on May 9 when UMMS graduates its 169th class of doctors during its annual Commencement ceremony in Hill Auditorium.
Physician, epidemiologist, public health expert, U-M alumnus (Class of 2007) and 2018 Michigan gubernatorial candidate Abdul El-Sayed, M.D., Ph.D., will be the featured speaker. Graduating senior Wala Tout will deliver remarks on behalf of the Class of 2019. Her speech is entitled, “The Leaders and Substantially Improved.”
Executive Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Carol R. Bradford, M.D., will preside over the ceremony. Senior Associate Dean for Education and Global Initiatives Joseph C. Kolars, M.D., will present awards to several faculty and students.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs and Dean of the Medical School Marschall S. Runge, M.D., Ph.D., will administer the Hippocratic Oath.
