Identity

The United Asian American Medical Student Association was founded in 1992 to support and represent the growing number of Asian American students entering the University of Michigan Medical School.

Our organization seeks to promote awareness of Asian American health care issues among our colleagues in the medical field and to reach out to the members of the Ann Arbor community and beyond. To this end, we organize health and cultural fairs, volunteer in local clinics, provide physician and student mentors, and organize various social events. We are part of the national Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA). Membership is open to everyone interested in Asian American health regardless of ethnicity.
