New Pediatric Cancer Rehab Clinic Receives $9,000 Grant

The new pediatric cancer rehabilitation clinic founded by Drs. Cody Andrews and Alecia Daunter was awarded a $9,000 grant from the Lincoln Park Public School Gold Rush Initiative.

Students and staff from Lincoln Park High School presented a Gold Rush Grant to PM&R pediatric rehab fellow Alecia Daunter.

The money will be used for research and programs that improve the quality of life of children with cancer.

Dr. Daunter is in the photo above on the far left side, the rest of the people are students and staff from Lincoln Park High School. The check was presented at halftime during the high school’s football game. The giant check says $7400 but they raised an additional $1600 on the day of the game.

More about the clinic: Dr. Cody Andrews, PM&R Rehabilitation Physician and Dr. Alecia Daunter, pediatric rehabilitation fellow, are seeing patients on Monday and Tuesday afternoons on the 7th floor of Mott Hospital in the hematology/oncology/BMT clinic. Referrals can be made through the referral to cancer rehabilitation MiChart order.
