Job Summary

The Sue Hammoud Lab, in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Michigan Medical School, seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow. The lab focuses on understanding genetic and epigenetic programs that guide germ cell development in-vivo and in-vitro. The applicant will involved in a range of research projects, and will be expected to make original scientific discoveries, analyze data, and suggest future directions.

The candidate should have strong written and oral communication skills, maintain detailed and organized lab notebooks and records, and be able to work under deadlines with general guidance. Candidates will be expected to collaboratively contribute to manuscripts, grants and presentations.

Required Qualifications

  • A PhD degree in biology, genetics, biochemistry, or a related field
  • A strong publication record
  • Experience with mice, biochemical, and molecular techniques
  • Candidates must have high degree of motivation, and the ability to think and work both independently and collaboratively.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with genomics

Background Screening
