Education and Training

We have played a major role in designing and teaching microbiology and infectious diseases here at the University of Michigan. In addition, resident education has always been an essential part of our strengths from the first year the division was established in 1967 until today. Individual faculty score high on evaluations from both resident and students, and several members of the division have won resident teaching awards.

Our Fellowship Training Program provides both research-oriented and clinical training, allowing fellows to develop as physician-scientists and/or clinical infectious diseases consultants. We value flexibility, and the learning experiences are designed to meet the individual goals of each fellow.
