Welcome to the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology & Diabetes at the University of Michigan. Our division is one of the largest and most comprehensive endocrinology units in the country, with a broad range of clinical and research activities.
We are located in the culturally diverse city of Ann Arbor and part of Michigan Medicine - home to one of the largest health care complexes in the world.
My colleagues and I are dedicated care providers who treat adult patients with endocrine disorders - the area of medicine that deals with hormones. We prevent and treat disorders including diabetes, thyroid disease, calcium disorders, and adrenal and pituitary gland disorders, as well as tumors of these endocrine glands. In addition, our Podiatry subdivision provides outstanding care to patients with problems affecting the feet, with special emphasis on diabetic foot conditions. Our clinics are located at the University of Michigan Hospital and nearby satellite clinics.
Beyond our clinics, our robust basic and translational research programs conduct cutting-edge investigations in the areas of diabetes, obesity, thyroid, adrenal, pituitary and neuroendocrine diseases, and endocrine cancers.
Our Endocrinology Fellowship Program is an integral and important part of our division, and our faculty are committed to training the next generation of academic endocrinologists. We invite you to consider training at Michigan. Additionally, our Podiatry subdivision has launched a podiatry fellowship program in the diabetic foot and wound care.
In closing, it is a great privilege to oversee this wonderful division of renowned physicians and researchers. I am proud and humbled by their work and know that together with you, we can make a difference in medicine.
