Gift made to establish the Joseph P. Lynch III, MD Lectureship Fund.
Joseph P. Lynch III has pledged a gift to our Division to establish the Joseph P. Lynch III, MD Lectureship Fund. Dr. Lynch was a former resident, fellow, and faculty member at the University of Michigan from 1973-2003, and served as interim Chief of the Division from 1985-1987. He is currently a Professor of Medicine and Associate Chief of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at UCLA Medical Center and an Emeritus Professor in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Lynch is an exceptional clinician, educator, and is a leading authority in numerous pulmonary diseases, including IPF, sarcoidosis, pulmonary vasculitis, and lung transplantation. The lectureship will be fully endowed in 2020, and will be used to bring renowned guest speakers to the University to enrich resident, fellow, and faculty education in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Michigan. As a testament to his commitment to education, Dr. Lynch has made similar gifts to his alma maters Dartmouth University and Harvard University.
