Caswell Diabetes Institute Welcomes New Managing Director Molly C. Dwyer-White

We are thrilled to welcome Molly C. Dwyer-White, MPH, as Managing Director of the Elizabeth Weiser Caswell Diabetes Institute (CDI) effective December 13, 2021. Molly will take over from Dorene Markel, MS, MHSA, to whom we are grateful for filling in over the past few months, and who will continue with CDI during her phased retirement through June 2022.

Molly comes to us with many years of experience in supporting major, multi-disciplinary teams and research endeavors, especially in translational research arenas important for patients and communities. Most recently, Molly served as the Michigan Health and Hospital Association’s (MHA) vice president of safety and quality and the MHA Keystone Center’s executive director. In this dual role, Molly developed and executed strategies to drive improvements in quality, safety, and experience across the state through evidence-based best practices, with special focus on addressing health and healthcare disparities. Prior to the MHA, Molly served as the director for the Office of Patient Experience at Michigan Medicine where she provided leadership on systemwide initiatives to improve the patient and family experience.

Molly has extensive experience working to support diabetes and metabolic research, education, and care gained at U-M during her previous work with the Brehm Center, where she played important roles in accelerating the search for ways to prevent and cure diabetes and its complications. Molly (and her family) are also very active, hopping from one sport to another and spending as much time as possible in outdoor activities. Please join us in welcoming Molly as she brings her energy and passion to bear in support of the CDI and its mission.
