After a two-year hiatus, Global REACH is pleased to announce the return of Partnership Development Grants – with expanded aims – for faculty to strengthen international collaborations.
Originally designed to provide funds to support faculty developing new international collaborations, the grants can now also be used to reinvigorate partnerships disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The application period runs through September 30, 2022.
“For me, one of the lessons of the pandemic is just how much can be done remotely. Our global health community has shown a great deal of resilience, finding ways to adapt, evolve and even thrive,” said Global REACH Director, Joseph Kolars, Senior Associate Dean for Education and Global Initiatives. “At the same time, I am acutely aware that not every interaction can be reduced to a videoconference call. When it makes sense and is safe to do so, I believe the time is right to re-engage our partners in-person.”
The grants provide up to $10,000 which faculty can use for travel or other project-related costs in support of emerging collaborative relationships. All UMMS Global REACH Faculty Associates are eligible to apply. (Learn more about becoming a Faculty Associate.) Faculty Affiliates (from other health professions schools) are eligible for funding if they are included in a proposal submitted by the Faculty Associate.
The grant application period will be open Aug. 1 thru Sept. 30, 2022, with award announcements expected in the fall. Find complete information here.
