Through population-based approaches that leverage “Big Data” tools, this work seeks to improve the delivery and quality of specialized healthcare services. With funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the VA Health Services Research & Development and MIDAS, our team is examining the following:
(1) the quality and appropriateness of percutaneous coronary intervention (i.e., coronary stenting)
(2) care of hospitalized patients with cardiac arrests, and
(3) new machine learning applications to longitudinal data analysis in healthcare.
