Liddy McCulla

PIBS 1st-Year Rotating PhD Student

Biography

I graduated from the University of Delaware in 2021 with a B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Genetics, and minors in History and Public Policy. During my undergrad, I studied early embryonic development using the purple sea urchin as a model. Upon graduation, I joined Dr. Meera Murgai's Lab at the National Cancer Institute, where I investigated role of perivascular cells in the pre-metastatic microenvironment. Outside of the lab, I enjoy trying out new recipes, getting outside to hike and camp, and listening to live music.

Research Interests

As an incoming student, I am interested in uncovering druggable molecular targets that lead to cancer progression, and learning how discoveries at the bench translate to the clinic for improved patient outcomes.
